Dubarry
Dubarry of Ireland is an Irish-owned company that was established in 1937 in Galway, Ireland. The company was named after French courtesan and mistress of Louis XV, Madame du Barry, which gave them some European flavour that would set them aside from other Irish brands. They specialised in the production of leather moccasin deck shoes.
In the early 1990s, Dubarry obtained a GORE-TEX licence and then launched the world’s first waterproof and breathable leather sailing boot called Shamrock. Their first flagship store opened in Dublin in October 2012, this was followed by the first UK store in Chelsea in November 2013 and then in Cheltenham in June 2016.
